CALEDON, Ont. — The Government of Ontario is investing $1.5 million to support the 2026 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, reinforcing its commitment to major sporting events that drive tourism, economic growth and community engagement across the province.
The 2026 RBC Canadian Open is expected to attract more than 130,000 spectators and generate approximately $84 million in economic activity throughout Ontario’s tourism, hospitality and event sectors. Nationally, the championship is projected to contribute approximately $100 million in economic impact.
“For more than a century, the RBC Canadian Open has been a cornerstone of Canada’s sporting calendar, and Ontario is proud to support this tradition once again,” said Neil Lumsden, Minister of Sport. “Our government’s investment will help deliver an exceptional experience for fans, support jobs and further strengthen Ontario’s reputation as a destination for world-class sport.”
First contested in 1904, the RBC Canadian Open is the third-oldest continuously running tournament on the PGA TOUR and Canada’s National Open Championship. The 2025 championship welcomed more than 130,000 spectators and generated more than $65 million in economic activity for Ontario.

Ontario’s support for the championship includes funding through the Ministry of Sport and an additional $125,000 investment through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming’s Experience Ontario program.

TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley will host the RBC Canadian Open for the second consecutive year in 2026, continuing the championship’s long-standing tradition of bringing Canada’s National Open Championship to premier venues across the country.
