COMMUNITY INFORMATION NIGHT
A community information night will be held in advance of the tournament. This informal, drop-in session will offer all local residents & business owners the opportunity learn more about the RBC Canadian Open and ask any questions that they may have about its impact in the community.
Where: TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (19131 Main Street, Alton)
When: Monday, April 28th
Time: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Tournament organizers and town officials will be present and available for discussion. Additional information on this evening will be included in mailout information packages that will be delivered throughout March and April.
ROAD CLOSURE DETAILS
Due to the configuration of TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley within the Alton community, the tournament will require the closure of Beech Grove Sideroad. This closure will run from Main Street to Porterfield Road around tournament week, with exact dates still being finalized.
While active, the only vehicles allowed within the closure will be tournament designated vehicles and tournament shuttle buses. The closure will be staffed by OPP personnel during tournament hours (approximately 7am – 7pm daily), and by tournament security at all other times.
The closure will not affect any municipal services (i.e., trash pickup) that would otherwise normally take place. It is asked that your waste is curbside by 7:00am on your regularly scheduled collection day as collection may be earlier than usual.
Tournament organizers are also working with local first response units to ensure the closure does not affect typical response routing.

SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION
During tournament week (June 2 – June 8), there will be a temporary speed limit reduction in place on Main Street between Beech Grove Sideroad and Charleston Sideroad. The speed limit on this stretch of Main Street will be reduced from 80 km/h to 50km/h, due to the expected increased traffic.

STREET PARKING & THE RESTRICTED ZONE
A restricted parking area will be temporarily created in Alton during tournament week. Advisory “Special Event Parking Permit Only” signs will be placed at each roadway entrance to the restricted parking areas. During this time, only permitted vehicles will be allowed to park on the street.
A hang tag program will be implemented in order to allow street parking access to all residents within the restricted area, under preexisting bylaw. Each residence will receive two tags to start, with the option to request up to two more by reaching out to rbccanadianopen@golfcanada.ca.
Hang tags will be delivered along with an information package towards the end of April.
Vehicles parking on the street within the restricted area that are not displaying a valid hang tag will risk ticketing and/or towing under the temporary bylaw. Tournament officials are working with local authorities to determine specifics regarding the enforcement plan.
The hangtag does not allow users to park within No Parking or No Stopping areas throughout the restricted zone, but only in areas that street parking is regularly permitted.
Canadian Open spectator, volunteer, and staff parking is to be accommodated within designated lots and as such will not be permitted on any residential street within the restricted area. More information on parking will be posted to the RBC Canadian Open website as it is confirmed.
